Birdie (birdiephilly.com) is a directory connecting homeowners with tradeswomen in and around Philadelphia. Here's what we collect, why, and what we do with it — no legal-team padding.

What we collect

If you apply to join as a tradeswoman: your name, business name, email, self-reported license/certification info, years in business, service area (zip code and radius), bio, photo, and any before/after photos or video clips you choose to submit, plus how you heard about us.
If you send an inquiry as a homeowner: your name, email, optional phone number, and your message — this goes directly to the tradeswoman you contacted.
If you join the waitlist: your name and email.
Basic analytics: we use Plausible, a privacy-respecting analytics tool that doesn't use cookies or track you across other sites. It tells us which pages get visited and roughly where from — nothing tied to you individually.

How we use it

To review and approve tradeswoman profiles before they go live.
To route inquiries between homeowners and tradeswomen — we don't sell or share this with anyone else.
To send transactional emails: confirmations, approval notices, inquiry notifications, and review requests.
To log inquiry and response timestamps internally, so we can eventually show response times — not public yet.
To improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't run ads against your name. We don't hand tradeswomen's contact info to lead-buying services. A homeowner's inquiry goes to the tradeswoman they contacted and nowhere else.

Where it's stored

Profile data, photos, and inquiries are stored with Supabase (Postgres, storage, and authentication). Transactional email is sent through Resend. Both are standard, reputable infrastructure providers — we don't run our own servers holding your data.

Your choices

Tradeswomen can edit or remove their profile any time from their dashboard.
Anyone can ask us to delete their data by emailing us — see below.
You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails; transactional emails tied to an active inquiry or application will still go out.
